We collect the following categories of data: • Account data: email address and display name when you register. • Installed plugins list: file names, file paths, and formats (VST/AU/AAX) detected by the desktop scanner. This data is used solely to power the plugin library and AI features. • AI chat history: your conversations with the AI assistant, including messages sent and responses received. Chat history is stored to enable the conversation memory feature (Studio plan) and to improve response quality within your session. Free plan conversations are session-only (not stored server-side). Pro and Studio plan history is retained indefinitely until you delete it or delete your account. • IP addresses: used in-memory for rate-limiting and abuse prevention. IP addresses are not stored persistently in our database. • Cookies and local storage: we use essential cookies for authentication session management and user preferences (language, theme). See our Cookie Policy for full details.
We use your information to: provide and maintain the PluginSight service; sync your plugin library across devices; power AI-assisted recommendations and chat; enforce subscription tier limits; send important service updates and, if you opt in, product news. We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your plugin list or chat history to train AI models.
Your data is stored on secure servers (Vercel/Supabase infrastructure) with industry-standard encryption at rest and in transit. Plugin scan data is associated with your account and is never shared with other users. You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account.
When you delete your account, the following personal data is permanently deleted: • Your account (email, display name, subscription) • Your installed plugin list (file names, paths, formats) • Your AI chat history and conversations • Your preset backups What is NOT deleted on account deletion: • Plugin catalog entries (images, links, metadata) - when your scanner discovers a plugin we did not have in our catalog, we may enrich our shared catalog with that plugin's public metadata. This enriched data belongs to our product catalog, not to you personally, and is retained. This is similar to how a Wikipedia contribution remains after an account is deleted. Retention periods for personal data: • Account data: deleted within 30 days of account deletion request. • Plugin list: deleted immediately on account deletion. • AI chat history: Free plan - session only (not stored server-side). Pro and Studio plans - retained indefinitely until you delete it or delete your account. • IP addresses: not stored persistently - used only in-memory for rate-limiting, discarded automatically. • Cookies: session cookies expire when you close the browser; preference cookies last up to 12 months.
We use the following third-party services, each with its own privacy policy: • Supabase - database and authentication (supabase.com/privacy) • Vercel - hosting and serverless functions (vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy) • OpenAI - AI chat processing. Your messages are sent to OpenAI to generate responses. OpenAI does not use API data to train models by default (openai.com/policies/api-data-usage-policies) • Lemon Squeezy - payment processing (lemonsqueezy.com/privacy) We share only the minimum data necessary for each service to function.
We use only essential cookies required for the service to function: • Authentication token - keeps you logged in across sessions. • Language & theme preference - remembers your display settings. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels, or third-party analytics cookies. See our full Cookie Policy at /cookies.
Regardless of your location, you have the right to: • Access: request a copy of the personal data we hold about you. • Rectification: request correction of inaccurate data. • Erasure ("Right to be forgotten"): request deletion of your account and all associated data. • Portability: export your plugin library data in a machine-readable format. • Restriction: request that we limit how we process your data. • Objection: opt out of any non-essential communications at any time. To exercise any of these rights, email support@pluginsight.io. We will respond within 30 days.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the new policy on this page, updating the "last updated" date, and sending an email notification where required by law.
